Mobile Aircraft Maintenance Personnel Lift

The mobile aircraft maintenance personnel lift is a wheeled, height-adjustable unit designed to provide technicians with safe access to various aircraft areas. It features an enclosed personnel platform, scissor-lift mechanism, mobile chassis, swivel castors, and an upper-platform control panel for inspection, servicing, and maintenance in hangars, on ramps, and in MRO facilities.

Overview

The AKAM mobile aircraft maintenance personnel lift is intended to provide fast, mobile, and controlled access to elevated aircraft areas. In the supplied image, the unit features a wheeled metal chassis, a multi-arm scissor mechanism, an enclosed personnel work platform with full guardrails, and a control panel mounted on the upper platform. The central scissor mechanism raises and lowers the work platform. A visible actuator / cylinder assembly is located in the lower structure and contributes to the lifting function; however, the exact hydraulic or electro-hydraulic drive system must be confirmed from AKAM TECHNIC's final engineering drawing and datasheet. Swivel castors provide mobility within hangar or workshop environments, while visible mechanical brakes on some castors help stabilize the unit at the work position. The upper-platform control panel allows the operator to control lift functions from the working level. Functionally, this unit differs from a stair-access mobile platform because the personnel platform itself is raised and lowered by the scissor mechanism, carrying the operator directly to the required height. Working height, rated load, drive system, safety systems, elevated travel capability, and other performance specifications must be confirmed from AKAM's final engineering documentation.

Application

• Technician access to elevated aircraft areas • Inspection and maintenance of airframe and external equipment • Servicing panels and elevated access points • Line and scheduled aircraft maintenance • Supporting MRO operations • Access to engines, wings, fuselage, and other elevated areas • Performing maintenance at height without fixed ladders or platforms • Moving between different work positions in hangars or workshops
