Aircraft Tail Maintenance Access Tower and Platform
The aircraft tail maintenance access tower and platform is a tall mobile structure designed to provide safe technician access to the vertical tail, horizontal stabilizer, and other elevated aircraft areas. It features a multi-level tower, internal stairways, intermediate landings, an elevated work platform, protective guardrails, a wheeled base, and stabilizing outriggers for inspection, servicing, and maintenance operations in hangars and MRO facilities.

Overview
The AKAM aircraft tail maintenance access tower and platform is intended to provide safe and controlled access to elevated aircraft areas. In the supplied image, the unit consists of a multi-level metal tower with internal stairways and several intermediate landings, together with a long elevated work platform at the top, perimeter guardrails, and safety gates at access points. The main structure is mounted on a wheeled mobile chassis, with multiple side outriggers extending around the base. Adjustable stabilizing feet are visible at the ends of these outriggers and are intended to stabilize the tower during use. Diagonal bracing and a truss-like structural arrangement are also visible, contributing to rigidity and stability at height. The multiple access levels, internal stairway, landings, and upper platform can support inspection, servicing, and maintenance work on the vertical tail, horizontal stabilizer, control surfaces, and other elevated aircraft sections. However, working height, platform load capacity, allowable loading, wind stability, overall working envelope, and compatibility with specific aircraft models must be confirmed only from AKAM TECHNIC's final engineering drawings and calculations.
Application
• Access to aircraft vertical tails • Access to horizontal stabilizers and control surfaces • Inspection of elevated aircraft structures • Maintenance and servicing in high-level areas • Support for MRO and heavy-maintenance operations • Technician access to upper fuselage areas • Scheduled inspections and planned maintenance • Use in hangars and aircraft maintenance facilities
