Mobile Aircraft Maintenance Access Ladder with Work Platform

The mobile aircraft maintenance access ladder with work platform is a tall wheeled access unit designed to provide technicians with access to elevated aircraft areas. It combines a long inclined ladder, a protected upper work platform, handrails and guardrails, a braced structural frame, and a mobile chassis for inspection, servicing, and maintenance in hangars and MRO facilities.

Overview

The AKAM mobile aircraft maintenance access ladder with work platform is intended to provide direct and safe access to elevated aircraft areas, especially where a conventional ladder does not provide sufficient working space at height. In the supplied image, the unit features a long inclined ladder, an upper work platform, full perimeter protection around the top platform, continuous handrails along the climbing route, and a wheeled chassis. Braced structural members are visible at the middle and rear of the ladder, connecting the access structure to the main chassis and contributing to rigidity. The upper platform provides standing space for the technician after climbing, while perimeter guardrails provide protection at height. A curved protective structure is also visible around the upper portion of the access route, improving protection near the top section. Several industrial swivel castors are visible at the base, allowing the unit to be relocated within hangars or maintenance areas. Unlike the multi-level AKA-1042 platform, this product has a narrower, more direct access path and is intended primarily to reach one defined elevated work platform. Working height, platform load capacity, ladder angle, protective-rail details, and stabilization system must be confirmed from AKAM TECHNIC's final engineering design.

Application

• Accessing elevated aircraft fuselage areas • Access to tail, wing, and upper structural areas • Inspection of elevated panels and equipment • Performing service and maintenance at height • Use in line maintenance and base maintenance • Use in hangars and MRO facilities • Access where a conventional ladder does not provide sufficient work space • Providing a protected standing platform for technicians after climbing
