Overview

The AKAM Hand-Pump Hydraulic Aircraft Wheel Handling Dolly is designed for aircraft wheel handling and service operations in wheel-repair and maintenance workshops. The unit operates through a manual hydraulic pump and a double-acting hydraulic cylinder. As the hydraulic mechanism retracts, the wheel is lifted from the floor and simultaneously held by the dolly's restraining/clamping assembly. This allows the operator to prepare the wheel for movement or workshop servicing without manually lifting the wheel. For normal movement, the dolly uses two steerable rollers and two fixed rollers. Two additional rollers provide lateral movement, allowing the unit to approach a wheel more easily from the side and to position itself more accurately in the workshop. This side-movement capability is particularly useful in confined service areas or where direct frontal access to the wheel is limited. The supported wheel diameter range is 37.5 in (95 cm) to 57 in (145 cm), with a rated load capacity of 551 lb (250 kg). The stated application range extends from B737 main landing gear wheels to A380 main landing gear wheels. The unit is suitable for Wheel & Brake Shops, MRO facilities, and aircraft wheel-repair workshops.
