Overview
The AKAM aircraft security locking wheel chock is a mechanical security device intended to increase aircraft protection during parking and unattended ground storage. By fitting around the wheel and locking in place, the unit creates a physical barrier that restricts free wheel rotation and provides an independent layer of protection in addition to onboard security systems. The adjustable frame accommodates wheel diameters of approximately 10 to 26 inches and wheel widths up to 8.75 inches. The main structure uses lightweight, durable aluminum with a steel locking axle. A high-security shackleless locking mechanism is used, with two keys supplied. For multi-aircraft fleets, keyed-alike configurations can be considered as a customized option. A high-visibility red finish allows rapid identification on ramps and inside hangars.
